Part 5 of 5 – “Why I Love Affiliate Marketing”

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing – Part 5
By Jimmy D. Brown of “Affiliatenaire

The word “overhead” is not a favorite among those who run businesses of any kind. Nobody likes the expenses of operating a business. And nobody really talks about them much when it comes to promoting all of the “money-making” products and services online.

But, don’t kid yourself, there’s a lot of overhead.

That brings me to the fifth reason why I love affiliate marketing…

** You don’t need a big budget to make it work **

Do you have any idea how much money is spent running an internet business? There are monthly fees for…

* Autoresponders
* Hosting
* Management
* Advertising
* Scripts
* Much more

There are regular fees for…

* Licensing
* Outsourcing
* Support
* Customer Service
* Maintenance
* Development
* Recruting
* Much more

It’s not uncommon to spend tens of thousands (even hundreds of thousands) of dollars in operational costs — which is fine if you’ve been in business a while and are making the bucks. However, if you’re a newcomer, it can be taxing on your budget!

SIDEBAR: I paid one girl over $30,000 last year just to oversee one small part of my business. No one talks much about it, but there ARE a lot of expenses involved before you get to the “bottom line” of profit.

BUT, with affiliate marketing, you don’t need a big budget to make it work! You can simply use a variety of free and low-cost marketing methods to generate clicks to your affiliate link.

That’s why I love affiliate marketing.

You don’t need a big budget to make it work.

Part 4 of 5 – “Why I Love Affiliate Marketing”

By Jimmy D. Brown of “Affiliatenaire

I’m sure by now you are well aware that there are those who have reported HUGE amounts of money being made with their online businesses. What you may not be aware of is the amount of work involved in generating those “sales” (not always net profit, mind you … this isn’t “spendable” income in a lot of cases.)

That brings me to the fourth reason why I love affiliate marketing…

** You don’t need to manage an entire business **

While it can be quite lucrative, running an entire business with employees, inventory, partners, vendors, and other associates can be a time-sucking, frustrating ordeal.

Imagine…

  • Processing refunds
  • Putting out fires when partners SPAM
  • Managing day-to-day operations
  • Overseeing projects you’ve outsourced
  • Recruting new affiliates
  • Training everyone to help you
  • Paying taxes
  • Taking care of the paper trail
  • Doing all of the “stuff” that business owners do.

Didn’t you want to start an internet business to make more time for important things in life?

Why not make a lot of money WITHOUT making a lot of extra work for yourself?!

It can be a lot of extra work and stress. BUT, with affiliate marketing, you don’t need to manage an entire business! You are simply responsible for promoting your affiliate link… someone else handles all the rest.

That’s why I love affiliate marketing.

You don’t need to manage an entire business.

Part 3 of 5 – “Why I Love Affiliate Marketing”

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing – Part 3
By Jimmy D. Brown of “Affiliatenaire

Some people have the ability to persuade others and talk them into just about anything. Especially when it comes to influencing their buying decisions. They know how to push the right hot buttons, say things the right way and generally get consumers into an emotional frenzy to the point they are ready to click an order button.

There are two key words in that paragraph that really need to stand out in your mind: “some people”.

Not everyone has this ability. In fact, only a few do.

That brings me to the third reason why I love affiliate marketing…

** You don’t need to write a world class salesletter**

Have you ever tried to write a salesletter? There’s a reason why professional copywriters charge up to $10,000 (and sometimes even more) for a SINGLE salesletter. It takes a lot of experience and skill to write a top-gun salesletter, which is why most people have a hard time convincing people to buy if they do create their own products and website.

They simply don’t have the right salesletter in place to make it all work. Without good copy, it really doesn’t matter how spectacular the offer is, you’re simply not going to get many sales.

SIDEBAR: The average conversion rate of site visitors who become buyers is reportedly less than 2%. That means 98 out of every 100 do NOT buy. That’s why sales are so incredibly bad for a poor site … you *might* get 2 sales out of every 300-400 visitors.

BUT, with affiliate marketing, you don’t need to write a salesletter! You simply direct people to someone else’s high-octane salesletter for THEM to convert your leads into commissionable sales.

That’s why I love affiliate marketing.

You don’t need to write a world class salesletter.

Pop quiz time. What does “HTML” stand for? Don’t know that one? How about this – what does “FTP” stand for? OK, one more chance. Do you know how to work with either?

That brings me to the second reason why I love affiliate marketing…

** You don’t need to build a website **

What scares people more than creating a product is building a website!

  • What in the world is HTML? Or FTP?
  • How much does the software cost? And hosting?
  • How do I upload files?
  • Why isn’t it formatted correctly?
  • Why don’t my graphics look like the ones the pros have?

If you are a complete beginner, it can be very difficult (even using templates) to get an attractive website in place. And hiring a professional to do it for you is out of the budget for most people.

But, with affiliate marketing, you don’t need to build a website. You simply send visitors to someone else’s professionally designed site through your affiliate link.

SIDEBAR: Just in case you’re interested, HTML stands for “hypertext markup language” and is the coding used to build webpages. FTP stands for “file transfer protocol” and is the process used for moving files from your computer to a website, or vice versa.

Really, in a manner of looking at it, you get to take advantage of the time and money invested by someone else to develop the site. Think about it: when you promote an affiliate link, it reflects firstly upon YOU. You are the one who is advertising the link, recommending the product, sending people who have interacted with YOU to the website.

The professional site of someone else really represents you as the promoter, in the eye of those who have clicked through your link.

You get the benefits without the bother.

That’s why I love affiliate marketing.

You don’t need to build a website.

Part 1 of 5: “Why I Love Affiliate Marketing”

NOTE: The following is a guest post from one of my favorite internet marketing mentors.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing – Part 1
By Jimmy D. Brown of “Affiliatenaire

Do you find yourself “starting” to create your own product to sell online, but never “finishing” it?

One of the things I love about affiliate marketing is –

** You don’t need to create your own products **

Many people find the idea of creating their own products to be an overwhelming and even paralyzing task.

  • I don’t have any good ideas!
  • I’m not a writer!
  • There’s too much competition!
  • I don’t know how to set everything up!
  • I can’t figure out where to start!
  • It’s too hard!

These are just a few of the valid reasons many people give when it comes to not creating their own products to sell. I’m sure with a few minutes of brainstorming, we could come up with a list of many more.

With affiliate marketing, you don’t need your own products. You simply promote someone else’s already proven successful offer for a commission.

And, truth be told, even if you ARE a writer and you DO have lots of ideas and you CAN figure it all out…

** Nobody wants to create new products all the time **

As good as you may be, you don’t know everything! Why try to create a product on every topic imaginable in your market when you can earn just as much money by simply promoting someone else’s really good offer as one of your profit streams?

That’s why I love affiliate marketing.

You don’t need to create your own products.

Build Your List with Free PLR

If you run an online business, you know by now you won’t make any sales without traffic. Most traffic is going to find your site through targeted and well written content. Instead of writing the content yourself, use free Private Label Rights content to fill your website pages.

Visitors want information. That’s one of the main reasons people surf the Internet. They are looking for helpful instruction for a number of problems or projects. The web is faster than driving to the library and has a greater variety of information.

For your website to stand out you need to have great content. Even if you are selling lawnmowers, people want to know you can offer more than just the product. Buying without getting a feel for the business has burned more than one customer. They want to know that you are genuine and they can trust you.

Free PLR is not hard to find using a search engine and your particular niche subject. Once you find a good site with quality articles; rewrite them to fit your products. Remember, with free PLR, the Internet is probably flooded with people using the same articles. So, making yours unique is a necessity. Don’t skimp and skip the rewriting of your PLR, especially if it’s free.

Here are a few ways you can use free PLR content to build your mailing list.

Create a Blog

The content posted on a blog changes more often than on a website. Use your free PLR content to create shorter blog posts. Once on the blog, customers and visitors can comment on your posts and you can gauge interest in the type of content you are providing. You can interact with visitors and ask questions. They can opt-in on your blog to receive newsletters by email.

Give Away Free Content

Everybody likes free stuff. Let’s use the lawnmower example again. Someone looking to buy a lawnmower is interested in beautifying their outdoor area. Use your free PLR content to create an instructional guide to planting flowers or even on how to cut grass to be aesthetically pleasing in return for your visitor’s email address and name. You can then offer additional member’s only reports and information once they are signed up.

Anyone who is interested in your content will visit your site. With good PLR content, you can work your way to the top of the search engine rankings. Offering free products for opt-ins narrows the traffic down to those who are serious about your product or area of interest. Those are the people you want on your list.

Get PLR content for free and rework it to provide opt-in offers that aid in list building. While your PLR content is bringing more and more traffic to your site, take advantage of the good fortune by creating a list of people who are interested in the information you have to provide.

Get PLR Xtreme today and get started building your list with great content!

Create and Sell Your Own PLR Products

Put your writing skills to good use and start creating your own PLR products. You can enlist the help of other services but they will take their lead from you. Begin with a few PLR products and expand from there.

PLR products are popular for one reason: little to no work put in for a high rate of return on investment. The investment is the money you pay to purchase the products and use them at your discretion. Many quick-thinking people have started this way but taken it a step further and decided that they should be selling Private Label Rights content also. You do reap the benefits being in the middle of the wave, but you reap more being at the head.

How do you create PLR products?

Let’s start with content. It would take just about all of your time to create the amount of content that would interest potential customers. One pack is not enough to bring in any money. You need hundreds of PLR packs to appeal to a large market. Even if you specialize in a certain niche, the number of sub-niches can be astounding.

Enlist the help of an article writing service. Provide them with your details and topics if you know them. Let seasoned ghostwriters create articles that reflect your voice for you to use on your site and sell. Ask for referrals from business associates and friends who have used this type of service before.

Article writing services can also do rewrites of the content they write for you. Use the rewrites for submitting to free article directories to drive traffic to your site. Be sure to ask for keyword optimization in the articles. The beauty is that they can come up with the keywords or you can do the research yourself and provide them for article writing.

The thing with PLR is that you’ll not want to allow your buyers to submit the articles to directories unless they rewrite the content 100%, so be sure you’re doing the same before submitting your own rewrites to the directories.

Where do you come in?

Now, it’s your turn to participate in the process. You have the articles; all you need to do is to turn each pack of articles into a product of your own to sell. Here are some ideas:

  • Audio products (with or without transcripts)
  • Special reports
  • EBooks
  • Video products (with or without transcripts)
  • Workbooks

Each of these ideas is a goldmine if used the right way. You can combine all of these ideas to create your own PLR membership site or stick with one and sell that type of PLR media only.

With the help of other services (free and paid) you can create PLR products to drive traffic to your site and create new streams of revenue. Before creating your products, do a little research to see what topics are currently hot so that you can create a marketable line of products.

Create Audio Products Using PLR Content

How far can you take your PLR content? The answer is “as far as possible”. One way to stretch the usefulness of your PLR content is by creating audio products out of them.

Everyone has a portable music device these days. It could be an mp3 player, an iPod or a cell phone. These devices are not just for music, but also for recordable audio in mp3 format. This is where you and your business come in.

Use your PLR content to create audio products for sale. There are a number of ways that you can add this new element to your product offerings to promote your site and/or affiliate products. It begins with a strategy. Let’s go through the process a bit.

Define Your Product

First, what types of audio products are you looking to create? You can create a podcast for instance. Using your PLR content as the subject matter, create a daily or weekly informative broadcast for your visitors and customers. Just for opting in to your email list, visitors can have the new broadcasts sent directly to their email inbox each time a new one is produced.

What about an instructional audio package? Using the content, write a script for yourself that details a how-to scenario for a particular niche of business or whatever your site products deal with. From that one pack of content, you can create a 5 or 10 part audio series for purchase on your site. The series can be downloaded to an iPod, computer or your phone for ease of listening.

More?

Want more ideas? Create a classroom lesson using your PLR content. This will involve reading the content on audio and also including workbook style questions at the end that can be discussed in the class. This audio product will appeal to business owners looking for content for online classes or mainstream classrooms.

To gain visitor interest, allow them to click on a link and hear part of the audio for sale. It can be a one or two minute snippet or an introduction to the audio series or classroom lessons. In that sample they get a feel for the tone of the class and what they will learn.

Your audio products can also be sold as PLR audio. This is a popular medium for businesses and you can make money letting someone else use your work under their name.

If all this makes you ready to go out and purchase some PLR content or revisit the way you have used PLR in the past, that’s a good thing. Resurrect that old content with audio options to bring in traffic and sales.

Increase Traffic with PLR Special Reports

There is more than one type of PLR available for business owners to use. The popularity of PLR content may have started with articles, but it has expanded to other types of media. One such variety is PLR special reports. These are a great way to draw more traffic to your site.

A special report is a short (average of five to fifteen pages) piece that highlights a certain topic. It can take the form of a how-to guide or general information piece about a particular subject. A special report can be a great tool for bringing more paying customers to your website business.

As a business owner, you have an area of expertise that sets you apart from the rest. You chose that area because of a hobby or special interest. In your business plan, you’ve most likely described how you will make money in that area.

With all of that information and knowledge already at your disposal, it is a simple hop, skip and jump to making more money with the help of special reports. You can purchase PLR special reports or create your own.

Buying PLR

When you’re looking to purchase special reports with PLR rights, try to choose limited edition reports. Every PLR product seller can set their own limit as to how many copies of content will be sold. When it comes to special reports, as with other PLR content, you’ll want to find someone who limits the amount of copies they’ll sell to as few as possible. The lower the number of copies being sold, the more expensive the content may be, but you’ll find the price is well worth it and still cheaper than writing the report yourself or hiring someone else to write it for you.

How to Use PLR Reports

After you find the special report to fit your niche, don’t forget to do a little rewriting. You can add information that’s relevant to your website products in particular. For example, if the PLR special report is about drying flowers, add a section about how to dry the flowers that are native to specific areas of the world. When you purchase a general report, things like that add specifics that customers are looking for.

Give It Away

Offer the report for free with the purchase of another product. Even better still is offering it for free just for signing up on your site. Now you are list building for future sales and using a PLR product to do it.

You can also give your affiliates the opportunity to brand the report with their affiliate links and give it away as well.

Sell It

You don’t have to sell your reports directly on your website only. If you have an eBay account, sell them there. You can link back to your site with each sale. This is a great way to get more people to you site to see what else you have to offer.

Create Your Own PLR Special Reports

If you’re really looking for a way to boost your sales, consider creating your own PLR special reports. Use your writing skills (or that of a ghostwriter) to create a report that you can sell with PLR rights. Give others the option of increasing their own sales by giving them PLR rights to the reports for a bit more.

Special reports can be used to drive traffic to your site, increase affiliate or product sales and more. Purchase PLR reports to give away or create your own to sell as a PLR product.

Finding PLR Content to Fit Your Needs

Online businesses are using PLR content to make their job of marketing and promotion easier. With concise and accurate content at their fingertips, traffic flocks to them. But, not all marketing efforts or promoting is equal; therefore the first step in using PLR is finding the ones that fit your needs best.

There are hundreds of sites that offer Private Label Rights content and other products for free or purchase. As you probably already know, all of these sites are not created equal.

  • Free PLR Sites – Sometimes with the free sites, you get what you pay for. Not all of these sites contain free content that’s simply fluff surrounded by fancy beginnings and endings. You have to read it and see if it meets your expectations for quality content. However, keep in mind that with any PLR it’s a wise decision to rewrite it and make it your own. Therefore you can always make it better. Fortunately, many of the reputable PLR sites have helped to make free, high quality PLR easier to find by offering free content as a sample.

    One problem you may run into is with free PLR content is the fact that it’s too general for your website needs. You have spent a lot of time creating your niche market. In that case, your best PLR content may come from a PLR membership site or club.

    • Membership PLR Sites - A PLR membership club offers you access to content and other PLR products for a monthly fee. The content is usually on a particular niche subject and will be right up your alley if you have a niche that is hard to find content for or find it hard to keep up with the demand of your readers while taking care of other aspects of your business.

      For those who can afford to join these clubs, the perks can outweigh the cost. Besides PLR content, members also have access to tips and tricks for increasing their business sales, affiliate recommendations for monetizing the content, freebie offers and more.

      • Individual PLR Packs - Check out sites that offer individual PLR packages. These are not necessarily membership sites, but businesses that offer quality PLR on a variety of subjects. You’ll find business, marketing, seasonal and other PLR packs to suit your needs.

        Since your PLR has a price tag, you’ll find a higher end quality with individual packs and membership sites. Even these sites may offer free content just for signing up for future emails and offers so you can get a feel for the content before committing to a membership or purchase.

        There are many ways to find PLR content for your website. If you are only looking for content, there are free and paid sites. Membership PLR sites can offer content plus other PLR products to help grow your business and save you the time and effort of creating the products yourself.
