Glad you decided to stick around for more of the Traffic Boost course because we’re just getting started with the REALLY good (and fun) traffic generation methods.
Today we’re going to talk about ONE of my favorite ways to generate traffic to my website – Small Reports. They are not my MOST favorite, but we’ll get to that one later, I promise. I think you’ll like today’s method just as much as I do.
Remember the PLR we talked about yesterday? PLR articles are a great shortcut to compiling a small report.
The first thing you need to do before we can even get to the actual small reports is to realize that as an online business owner, you have to give to get. That means there will be times that in order to get what you want for your business, you have to offer something for free. That’s what today’s lesson on small reports is all about.
Creating a freebie small report can actually serve more than one purpose in your business. Today we’re going to talk about two of those ways:
- You can offer your free report to visitors in exchange for them signing up for your mailing list. (We’ll talk more about mailing lists tomorrow.)
- You can make the report customizable and allow those who receive it to re-brand it with their own affiliate links for the products you’ve recommended inside. If you want to get even more traffic from your reports, make them brandable.
First, you need to create a small report (we’re talking 7-15 pages in length) that centers on a topic of interest to your market. For instance, if your target is “moms”, you might create a free report about meal planning or even a cookbook with quick, inexpensive recipes.
Of course you’ll insert your own product recommendations with your own affiliate links into the report. Then, turn it into a PDF file.
If you don’t have a Word to PDF converter, here’s a free one you can use. http://www.openoffice.org/
Next you’ll need to make the PDF brandable so that those who purchase it can pass it on (be sure to let them know this in the report itself) to others and use their own affiliate links if they so choose.
Although you can find many PDF rebrandable programs online with a Google search, here is one that is completely different from most. It offers an opt-in form to every PDF document!
Now, the fun part! Start giving the report away! Sit back and watch your traffic numbers go up as people continue to pass your viral report all over the Internet.

Whether you make the report brandable or not, be sure to submit it to all of the free-ebook sites online, especially Scribd.com
