Today I want to discuss a way to get targeted traffic to your website using Google Adwords.

Adwords is a way to advertise your website on Google’s search engine. You’ve probably seen these ads before. Whenever you search for something at Google, you’ll see ad blocks that are listed to the right of your search results. These are Adwords ads.

With Adwords, you control how much you spend on advertising. There are no minimum amounts per ad or day. You don’t pay for the ads just showing up in search results. You only pay if someone clicks through to your site.

The trick to getting traffic from these ads is to use well researched keywords that your target market actually searches for. When you set up your Adwords account, Google even has a tool to help you research your keywords based on your websites content.

You can see this handy resource here (it can be used even without using Adwords)

Just a word of caution: Adwords can be a very competitive way to advertise, but be cautious about the keywords you’re targeting and plan and track your campaigns very carefully.

Tomorrow we’ll talk about videos and how you can use them to get traffic.
